Another Goal Another Goal

I did well on all my goals for yesterday except 1. The arch of my right foot has been hurting and I’m thinking it’s because of my normal walking shoes…they’re pretty old. But, today will be good because It’s a run day.

Eat no gluten for three meals Done

30 minutes Cross training :(

Drink enough water Done

Walk to work (1 mile) Done

Yesterday evening Robin and I made a grocery run to Amazing Savings and made turkey burritos ( he had flour tortillas and I had my corn tortillas) It was delicious and there are leftovers for today’s lunch! I’m trying my best to keep my energy up throughout the day since I have 7 hour work days and next week will be a 40 hour week! I should probably be taking my vitamins…yeah. 

This morning I made some oatmeal and added coconut flakes, vanilla almond milk, a little brown sugar, halved walnuts and almond butter. It was pretty yummy.

I’ve got my snack for today:

Pomegranate Parfait

1 cup vanilla yogurt

2 Tbsp shredded coconut

2 Tbsp my homemade honey granola

Its a coconut day it seems! Happy hump day!

5K Training

And so it has begun! 

Today I ran, for the first time in three months, and I got a mile flat out in 15:38 that’s a huge improvement from my last mile time in January (16:54)!. It felt so good to have the time again. Now that school is out for the summer and my schedule will be relatively easy I’ll be training for 5k every other day and alternating it with active rest days and body weight training. I’m excited. I’ve come a long way this semester with my art work and my fitness (even though I haven’t exercise since spring break).

Done with my 30 day calendar! (finally)Got so much done today!

Yay! It took forever to finish that calendar and I forgot to mark it a couple of times but, It’s all good. For tonight’s workout, Robin made a metabolic conditioning workout for me and my workout buddy . I also got the weekly chores done, read about 100 pages of text for my class tomorrow and started on my essay!!! I love when I handle my time wisely. It also helps that I woke up around 5:45 am today. 

I made my signature gluten-free/vegan black bean burgers today because I’ve been craving veggies.

I can’t say that I’m looking forward to measuring myself but, I’ll probably be doing that sometime next week.

The workout tonight was brutal but, made me feel awesome after. We did a lot of arm work and I know that I need it. We worked in the negative doing frog push ups and pistol squats. It was very challenging but, my friend and I got through it. I’ve been noticing very small changes in my body. My muscles are more toned and I wake up earlier and I’m happier. Now, to lose this fat….

By the way, I fixed black bean tacos with green chilies, onions,  cheddar cheese, salsa and lettuce afterwards and it was delicious. They looked somewhat like this

I’ve also been craving fruits and veggies and almonds recently. I would go ham on a salad bar right now….yeah….. I’m super craving an herbal life smoothie and as soon as the money situation is fixed, It’s gonna be on like donkey kong.

Flu and Workout

Yesterday night I decided to do a workout and try as hard as I could. I worked out with one of my good friends and together we conquered. There was minimal whining. I’m proud of myself and my buddy. That’s all for now, I’m going to lay back down. :(


Day 25: Home stretch…

I know I haven’t been uploading a lot but, life happens (especially when you have 26 hours worth of homework a week). But, yesterday’s workout was really good. I did a combinations set of 21, 15, 9 (squats, lunges, bicycle crunches, situps, dips and push ups). My butt is sore today, which is a good sign. I’m working on getting up earlier, which means going to bed earlier as well….so that should make a difference in my posting. I’ve got 5 days to go so I’m happy. Tomorrow I scheduled a biometric lab appointment but, haven’t gotten a response but, maybe it’ll turn out for the best.

What is your favorite type of snack? Currently, my favorite snack is salsa and fresh guacamole with tortilla chips. yummy!

New Water Bottle!

I got my new water bottle in mail yesterday! Its a pink Nalgene bottle (32 oz). I’m excited. Here she is!

I think her beauty will inspire me to drink water. 

A bumpy road: Life gets in the way sometimes

Hey Tumble Buds, I’ll be posting some new stuff by the end of this week. Studio classes are killing me and I wasn’t drinking enough water but still taking vitamins. I’ve got to maintain better discipline in all areas of my life but, It’s a learning process. I’ve been eating well and have done group exercises with friends but, I really need to muster the will to wake up early on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings to run and to make sure I’m doing other exercises the rest of the week. I think I’m going to do my benchmark for my 30 day challenge since I’ve lost count an haven’t been putting x’s on my calendar when I should. :( I’m loving my Herbalife shakes but, It’s only been 30 days and I didn’t expect to lose too much but, I won’t be able to buy it for a while. I’m going to be renting a bike from the school soon (once I find a place to keep it in my apartment) so that I can ride it when it’s nice out and on weekends when I have to go to campus early. 

But, I’m learning that life isn’t perfect and I have to adjust to changes. I will be working out with one of my friends on campus later tonight though and I’m pumped!
